Equine Flu is very contagious, it can be spread by droplets in the air which can travel over a mile. It can also be transfered by contact, such as infected tack, clothing, horseboxes, and equipment.
Symptoms include, high tempreature, dry cough, lack of appetite, nasal discharge. Vaccinated horses may show the same symptoms but milder but they can still carry and transmit the virus.
Diagnosis can be done by using nasal swabs
Vaccination is compulsory with some showing organisations.
